🔴 Opposition Focus: Stoke City

Championship Match – Date TBD | Venue TBD

📝 Last Game Report

Stoke put in a solid performance but fell to a 1–0 defeat against West Bromwich Albion, with Nat Phillips scoring off a set-piece early in the game. Despite their strong build-up and attacking efforts, Stoke were unable to convert their chances and were undone by a defensive error. Their recent results suggest they remain competitive but might be vulnerable in high-pressure moments.

⭐ Key Players

  • Ashley Phillips – on-loan defender from Tottenham, expected to play a key role in defence
  • Bosun Lawal – an emerging talent who brings versatility and growing influence across defence and midfield
  • Ben Gibson – seasoned centre-back and team captain, offering leadership and stability at the back

⚽ Context

Stoke City are aiming to climb the Championship table after a struggling previous campaign. While their defensive reinforcements give them a more solid base, inconsistencies remain—especially under pressure. Expect a hard-working side that looks to settle through structure and moments of individual quality.

🔮 Score and Team Prediction

I am expecting another hard test for our boys in blue.
They have three wins under their belt so far this season, but only one of them was a home fixture, and they lost to the baggies last time out.
I'm going for a tight win for us.

My team selection:-

Allsop

Osayi-Samuel, Neumann, Klarer, Cochrane.

Iwata, Paik.

Roberts, Stansfield/Ducksch, Koumas

Furuhashi

(Stansfield and Ducksch bracketed as seriousness of Injury is unknown)

Score 1-2

Yes, I'd go along with that team selection Pete.

We would also have a very strong subs bench, which may prove the decisive factor.

I’m hoping they come out of the break firing. Disappointing results and performances going into the break considering the comeback fight against Blackburn. Feel we need to start scoring freely now though.

I’m going 3-1.

Is that a home win you are predicting Matty?

Do you hail from Shirley and is your father named Roger.....you don't need to answer either question but I am from Acocks Green and I might know your Mom & Dad.

I meant 3 for blues so should have been Stoke1-3 Blues.

I hail from Hall Green, Grand Parents Lived close to Shirley side of Hall Green. Uncle is still there. Back in the day we were the only Revill’s in the area.

Dimi might be ok. But from this video, he seems to rate Roberts. Not expecting Stanno to start.

Anyone else looking forward to this game or what? It's taken forever!
