🔵 Opposition Focus: Coventry City

Championship Match – Saturday, 27 September | Coventry Building Society Arena

📝 Last Game Report

Coventry’s last outing was a goalless 0-0 draw against Leicester City. The Sky Blues were disciplined defensively, limiting Leicester’s attacking threats, but struggled to create clear chances of their own. It was a solid point, but they’ll be looking to add more attacking edge at home.

⭐ Key Players

  • Haji Wright – Coventry’s key goal threat, strong finisher and physical presence
  • Brandon Thomas-Asante – lively forward with pace and power, capable of unsettling defences
  • Milan van Ewijk – attacking full-back who provides width and energy down the flanks

⚽ Context

Coventry currently sit 6th in the Championship, making a strong start to the season. Their draw with Leicester highlighted their defensive organisation but also their lack of cutting edge in front of goal. At home, they’ll aim to be more expansive, especially against a Birmingham side bringing strong away support.

Interesting set up there BluZ.
No Stansfield???
I presume Klarer on Left and Robinson on Right is a mistake/typo error.

My Team...

Allsop
Osayi-Samuel, Klarer, Robinson, Cochrane
Iwata, Paik
Roberts, Stansfield, Gray
Ducksch

Bench...

Beadle, Laird, Neumann, Doyle, Furuhashi, Koumas, Dykes.

Score Prediction... 1-1

Oh yeah. Whoops. Hopefully that's the only mistake at the back this week. I'm so desperate for kyogo to get off the mark I thought I'd give him a start. But I know in reality Stanno starts. Think this will be a tough one. Both teams likely to cancel each other out. I'm going 1-1 as well.

I understand where you are coming from, I'm a bit the same way with Ducksch, but I've put him in my starting eleven for his extra height and muscle which could be useful when defending set pieces

I hope you're right Matty. A score like that against Coventry will be a massive confidence boost.

Well, that wasn't much fun, was it?
Not a lot.
I am starting to wonder if Klarer is too slow for the championship, and maybe it is time to try Neumann and Davies together.
Davies second yellow came about because he was attempting to cover for Klarer.
The forward line just are not gelling, For me Roberts has to start and let's hope Keshi is back fit soon. Ducksch and Kyogi appeared to be working out a partnership but aren't getting the game time to work on it.

Apart from all that I think we should give kudo's to Coventry, they played extremely well and reacted to what was required in the game in a very timely manner.

The Owls are up next and we will be back at home, so I am expecting a revival of form and a much needed win for the Blue Boys
