⚪ Opposition Focus: Swansea City

Championship Match – Saturday, 20 September | St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park

📝 Last Game Report

Swansea last played Hull City in the Championship and drew 2-2. They shared the points in a lively contest, with both sides showing attacking intent and leaving gaps at the back. Swansea had spells of dominance but couldn’t convert enough chances to seal the win. Defensive lapses cost them in crucial moments.

⭐ Key Players

  • Žan Vipotnik – a consistent goal threat and among their early scorers this season
  • Ronald Pereira – pacey winger offering width and creativity

⚽ Context

Swansea are mid-table at the moment, showing glimpses of potential but also suffering from inconsistency. Their draw with Hull suggests resilience, but they’ve also conceded goals they’d want back. This match at St Andrew’s will be a good test of their ability to manage pressure and stay solid away from home.

CD and his team of coaches will have had a full week to work with the lads, and I expect some of the below par performances would have been assessed and addressed.
Your team (Above) BluZ, is almost the same as mine. I would have Laird at right back, Cochrane at left back Osayi-Samuel on bench if fit, I think he is carrying a niggle at the moment.
On the bench...Beadle, Robinson, Osayi-Samuel, Doyle, Koumas Leonard and Furuhashi

I have just watched the Swansea v Nottingham Forest game and got the impression that although the Swans played well at times their win could be attributed to Forest losing it rather than Swansea being victorious.
It will not be an easy game for Blues at the weekend, but I don't see any part of the Swans game to be scared of.
There forwards were not in tune with one another and there was very little in the way of creative play to create chances.
Midfield were deliberate in their passing but to my mind were a bit slow.
In defence they were adequate to the point of having to scramble at times, but they scrambled very effectively.
Their set pieces were effective so Blues will have to be on their mettle in that department.
It was a very testing and hard game for them, and only having three days to recover could play into our hands.
Players to watch out for...Eom Ji-Sung, Ž. Vipotnik and at set pieces C. Burgess.

I still think Blues should come away with a comfortable win

Great report, Pete. That's a good result for Swansea. Let's hope that the extra game before they play us will be to our benefit.
