The Blues - in New Zealand

New policies mean we must ask that you return to the Mailing List page and confirm your OPT IN status.

World class Blues and Gospel artists are attracting a growing audience in New Zealand. Witness the growth and development of some of New Zealand's interesting artists in this Blues renaissance that seems now a most potent force in the New Zealand Music industry - witness emerging gospel star Hollie Smith who was recently picked up by Blue Note and spent many many weeks at No 1 on the charts with Bathe in the River. This site has evolved around filmings of New Zealand Blues singer Rick Bryant. He has been called the biggest voice in soul music and has been producing recordings for the past forty years.

Many current musical styles owe their roots to the origins of Blues music over a hundred years ago, and those traditions continued. Artists like Rick Bryant, Darren Watson, Hollie Smith, Jubilation, Don McGlashen, Dave Dobbyn and The Windy City Strugglers all create fine original Blues music right here in New Zealand. Add your name to this list by sending NZBlues.com photos and your songs if you make blues music in New Zealand.

This site features unique and genuine behind the scenes video and photography plus our exclusive clips from gigs. Plus our selection of online blues videos we have encountered.

NZBlues may attend and video a few gigs* - if you think your band/performance should have its own page on NZBlues.com - send me some of your video links for a start.
